Privacy policy

It describes what happens to the information you leave on this site as a visitor: a call booking, a message sent from the Contact page. It doesn’t govern the data property management companies process in Choucas — their properties, jobs and owners. For that data, the property management company is the controller and Choucas acts as processor, under a written contract concluded on signing, as required by Article 28 of the GDPR.

Call booking and the contact form are steps taken at your request before entering into a contract: you write to get a demo or an answer. Keeping these exchanges for three years is based on the legitimate interest in following up a business relationship. You can object to it at any time.

When you click “Request a demo”, you’re taken to Google Calendar to pick a slot. Your name, email address and chosen time are collected there.

The contact form is processed by Netlify, which hosts the site: your message is stored there, then sent to us as an email notification. We keep it for three years from the last contact, in our business email hosted by Google. If sending fails, a fallback link opens your email app with the message pre-filled — in that case, nothing passes through Netlify.

For this site: Netlify hosts it and receives the form messages; Google (Workspace) provides business email and call booking. Both are established outside the European Union, and the information entrusted to them may be processed there, under standard contractual clauses. The product is different: the spreadsheet and the program that runs it are installed in the property management company’s own Google Workspace. Its data doesn’t pass through any infrastructure belonging to us, the region where Google stores it depends on its own settings, and we keep no copy. We retain support access there, which it can revoke whenever it chooses.

Two periods, because there are two purposes. Calls booked on this site and messages sent from the Contact page are kept for three years from the last exchange: this is prospecting, and three years is the period set for it. In Choucas, guest, property and owner files are deleted three years after the last stay; their purpose isn’t prospecting but serving someone better when they come back, and a guest who hasn’t returned in three seasons no longer has a useful file. This second period applies at the property management company, which is responsible for it.

This site sets none. No analytics, no advertising network, no social media buttons, and no script loaded from another domain — fonts and images are served from this site. That’s why you haven’t seen a banner: there’s nothing to accept or refuse. The product demo opens in a separate frame, and only if you click to launch it.

The home page can display the Choucas app in a frame, with fictional data. It doesn’t load on its own: nothing is requested from another domain until you click to launch it. That click opens a connection to choucasv2.netlify.app, hosted by Netlify, which then receives your IP address and your browser’s characteristics, like any site you open. The address of the page you came from isn’t passed on. What you do inside the demo stays in that frame: it runs on its own domain, and this site can’t read anything in it.

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port the data concerning you. To exercise these rights, write to the address given in the legal notice: we reply within one month. If you’re not satisfied with the reply, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority.

It has no other form, creates no accounts and doesn’t track anyone from page to page. No data is sold or passed to third parties for commercial purposes.
